OFF SEASON WRESTLING IS OPTIONAL; SO IS WINNING.
More often than not, those that compete in Spring, Summer, and Fall find their way to the top of the podium in the post season. The mat experience and tournament experience are invaluable to improving as a wrestler.
YOU ARE NOT STRONG ENOUGH
If you train technique and cardio you will go far. But when you get a beast that adds a year round strength training program, including an in season weight lifting program, you will not like the result. At the very least, you need to continue to run on your own. Show up to off season workouts. Challenge yourself to do 100 push ups and 100 sit-ups each and every day, when you can do them consecutively in one go; challenge yourself to do 200.
CONGRATULATION TO THOSE TRAINING YEAR ROUND.
I appreciate your dedication to training your technique, cardio, and strength. Want to pass others? Want to get on that podium and advance!? Train the mind. Be aware of the match, the score, the situation. Toe the line and rise up to the competition. The mind is as important as the body so stop letting doubt creep in and consume your potential!
STOP BLAMING OFFICIALS
Athletes, coaches, parents, and spectators love to blame the officials.
Winning is a choice, you’re hand gets raised because of the effort in the practice room and in the off-season. It’s not talent, but hard work and determination to improve oneself to the maximum of their ability that leads to a successful wrestler. Losing is also a choice. Do what it takes within the time of the match to have your had raised. Overcome your opponent. Never ever allow the referees to determine the outcome of your match.
WHAT HAPPENED IN YOUR LAST MATCH AND LAST YEAR MEANS NOTHING
Work hard in every aspect of your preparation. Don’t overlook any opponent. Prepare yourself and remain in control of your own efforts and you will be successful.
I am working on finalizing Banquet info... should be in April.
